Amanda and Adam
Hi there! We are Adam, Amanda, and Mateo
Thank you for taking the time to view our profile.
We recognize you are facing a difficult decision, and our prayer for you as you look over these pages is that you are filled with clarity and peace about your decision. You are so courageous for considering this path for your child, and we know you love them so much. We can't imagine all the things you are feeling right now, but we hope this profile gives you a good idea of who we are and what life with us would look like for your baby. We also hope that you can envision how you, as your child's first mom, would be an important member of our family. Whatever you decide, we know you are making the best decision for your child.
About Us
We met in 2014 while in student leadership at our college.
We were in the same service project group, and over lunch we ended up sitting next to each other and quickly bonded with our banter and shared humor. Soon after that, we started dating and knew this was it. Two years later, we were married in Adam's parents back yard. We have always said that friendship is the most important aspect of our relationship. No matter what changes, or what we are going through, we are friends first. We genuinely love doing life together and spending time together.
Our son, Mateo, joined us through adoption at birth in 2022. He is full of life and energy. He is always moving, climbing, and he keeps us on our toes. He is so considerate and compassionate, and we know he will be a great big brother.
Home and Family
Adam grew up in Mexico, and Amanda in Michigan, but we have settled close to both of our families in northern Indiana.
We are blessed to be able to see our families frequently, and that our kids get to grow up with close relationships with cousins and grandparents. We live in a large farmhouse on 10 acres. We have a huge field for playing, and lots of woods for exploring. We are a short drive from lots of walking trails, parks, and the school Mateo will be attending in a few years. We are thankful that our community has a large Hispanic population, as it gives us a lot of opportunity to embrace Mateo's Hispanic heritage, and allows us to enroll him in a Spanish and English dual language program at school.
We have three large shelter dogs, aged 5, 9, and 12, and one cat. All of our animals are very friendly and gentle with our son. Mateo loves to go outside with our dogs to play fetch or chase them around the yard. We have lots of space to let them run and play, and we think there is so much value in our children growing up with animals.
Things We Love
Going for walks
Gardening and making our own salsa
Learning how to make new foods
How to Train Your Dragon - Mateo's current favorite movies!
Being involved at our church
Staying at our family vacation home near Lake Michigan
Favorite traditions
Every September, we go to our city's Hispanic Heritage festival with Adam's mom (Abue).
At Christmas, we love to set up a train under our tree, and we pack up with hot cocoa, and drive around town to see Christmas lights.
We also have a sleepover with all the cousins at Abue's house over the holidays.
On Sundays, we either host our church small group, or we have family movie night.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Thank you!
Being parents is our most important calling, in which we find purpose and meaning. We value raising our children to be strong, secure, and loved individuals who are confident in who they are.
With us, your child would be loved beyond measure, encouraged to follow their passions, and given every opportunity to explore their world. They would be raised to know their story, and have an appreciation for their heritage. We would want for your child to know where they come from, and to know you too.
We so love being parents, and we are excited to grow our family with not just a baby, but with their first family too.
