Caroline and Brad
Hi! We are Caroline and Brad
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us.
We appreciate and admire the strength and love you have for considering adoption for your child. Although we have not met, we already hold so much love in our hearts for you and your baby. We have a great deal of respect for you, and we are grateful for the potential opportunity to build our lives together in a home filled with comfort, love, and joy. We hope our story speaks to you and helps you on this journey.
Our Story
We met through a mutual friend 18 years ago when we were students and hit it off right away.
We have a similar sense of humor and quickly realized we share the same outlooks on life, like the importance of family and going through life with an open mind. Before we knew it, we were dating, and most importantly, best friends, and that friendship grows stronger every year. We are always laughing and having fun together, and it's probably because we truly like and respect one another.
Even though there are many things we each enjoy separately, we also share a lot of interests and make it a priority to do them together. We love being in nature and doing activities like going for walks, hiking, hanging out at the beach, and paddle boarding on the water. We also enjoy live music and food, so we love to occasionally go to concerts and dine out at restaurants. Although we are social, we don’t go out all the time, and when we spend time with friends and family, we are usually at people's homes. We are also happy to stay in just the two of us to play card games or watch our favorite tv shows and movies because at the end of the day, it’s just about quality time and good company.
Home and Family
We love our home and neighborhood.
Our streets are lined with big trees, and you can often see families biking around the streets, playing outside, and walking throughout all times of the day. We are close to parks, walking distance to elementary and middle schools, and have a pretty walking trail along the creek. Our home sits in a quiet cul-de-sac, it's full of character inside, and most importantly, there’s a big open backyard filled with colorful plants, flowers, and grass that’s great for sitting with family and friends, having a barbecue, and playing games like corn-hole. Our cat, Bruster, loves to occasionally sneak out and enjoy it too!
Most nights we try to have a homemade dinner together at the dining table, away from distractions and focus on each other, and one of our favorite ways to do this, is our tradition of “Pizza Friday.” Every Friday we make pizza at home, using ingredients from a local Italian grocery store. Although we usually use this time to listen to music, talk, and catch up, once a month we invite our family over to join us. We are so excited to share traditions like this one as we become parents, and we can’t wait to start making new ones along the way.
Favorite Family Traditions
For Thanksgiving Brad's family rents a large house, where everyone stays together under one roof, spending the week playing games, exploring the beach or mountains, and sharing stories.
We have an annual summer trip with our best friends and their daughters, where we either travel to the other's home for a week or rent a house together and meet in a new place.
Our Interests
Brad- skiing, nature walks, playing golf, doing home improvement projects, and designing/building wood furniture
Caroline- yoga, reading, writing, spending time with our cat, and learning new things like Mahjong and how to crochet
In Closing
Our promise to you is to provide your child with unconditional love and support and help them grow into a strong, independent person who has an internal peace and passion about who they are and where they came from.
As parents, we plan to always make an effort to be a part of their interests and listen to their needs, while also providing guidance from our own lives and experiences. We look forward to all the things the future has to bring, from morning wake-up routines, bedtime stories, afternoon walks, and trips to the park, to celebrating little milestones, being there for scraped knees, big dreams, and everything in between.
Most importantly, we are excited to become parents and fill our home with the sounds of childhood, and if we are fortunate enough to raise your child, they will grow up knowing they are deeply loved every single day.
