Hello there! We are Brian & Jordan (Harper & Linden, Too!)

We hope this letter gives you a glimpse into our lives. We are goofy—there’s plenty of laughter, kitchen dance parties, and cheesy jokes. We are creative—we’re always learning a new thing to watercolor, baking grandma’s sweet bread recipes, or adventuring through new parks around town. We love hard—we prioritize family time together over everything and there’s plenty of group hugs. Growing our family through adoption has always been a calling of ours, and we’d love to have you and your child as a part of our lives! We adopted our second daughter almost three years ago and have had a great open relationship with her birth family. We promise to do the same thing for you- whatever that may look like.

Our Story

We first met in college when Brian gave Jordan a tour of the dorms around campus. By the end of the tour he was interested in her and her goofy sense of humor, but never thought he’d see her again. Surprisingly, we had mutual friends and were both invited to the same bonfire months later; the rest is history! We base our relationship on being best friends and 13 years later that still rings true. From coffee dates, exploring new restaurants, sitting on the back patio, or gardening — we love to do things together. We have built a strong marriage full of laughter, love, and so much good food!

HARPER IS OUR 7 YEAR OLD GIRL!

She is the most caring, funny, chatty, and wise little girl. You’ll catch her drawing or coloring all day if you let her. She loves to dance (especially hip hop), be with her friends, and hang with her sister. Harper is one of the most empathetic and caring kids I have met. If someone is left out or hurt, she is always there to help. Everyone is a friend to her and it is one of my favorite things about her! She is a gem.

LINDEN WILL BE 3 IN NOVEMBER!

We have called her our little “joy bug” since she was little because she brings joy to all who are around her. Every time you see her she’s rocking a baby doll in a chair or playing catch with a ball. She knows no stranger and is a lover. She absolutely can’t wait to be a big sister and asks daily where her baby is. We are so blessed the Lord brought Linden and her birth family to us through adoption!

Our Home and Family

We live in a cozy home in a diverse part of our city!

Our street is full of families and we love to get together for picnics often. Our favorite part of the neighborhood is a hidden lake/walking path. Most nights after dinner the girls grab their scooters and we go walk around it! They always make sure we pass the house with the free library to grab a new book. We also have a large sand pit in our backyard which is perfect for making moats and sandcastles with all our neighbor friends. If you come to our backyard, you’re going to be messy, but you’re going to have so much fun.

When we’re in the backyard, you can find our two dogs, Dunkin and Millie, lounging and playing all day! Dunkin is a goofy fluffball who is always ready for a walk. Millie is a clown who loves attention and playing fetch. Our onery Himalayan cat, Beans, will be found watching over us through the window patiently waiting for all the cuddles!

We are blessed to live in the same city as both of our families!

You can find us out at Jordan’s parents lake swimming or picking vegetables from Brian’s dad’s garden on any given weekend. Having support from our parents and siblings has been such a blessing as parents and as we continue to grow our family through adoption! We also have a great community of friends at church that have been such a great support in our lives. We treasure having a large community around us as we walk through life!

We also promise to honor and respect your story. We have an open adoption with our daughter’s birth family and have kept every promise we made to them. We’ve spent time together, shared special moments, and built a relationship we truly cherish. However things look for you, we’ll follow your lead and support what feels right for you. You are already so loved by us, even before we’ve met.

Your child will be surrounded by love, will know their story, and will always be encouraged to grow into the amazing person God made them to be.
