About Us
We met in college and became best friends before starting our relationship.
We have been happily married for four of our eight years together and are still completely head over heels for each other. Through every season of life, we've stood by one another, learned from each other, and found ways to make the best of whatever comes our way. Together, we've built a home rooted in faith, respect, and the belief that showing up for one another matters most. In our free time, you can expect to find us kayaking, on a picnic, or spending time with our families. We love to remain active and involved in our community around us.
Our little family includes a sweet Beagle named Hazel Jean and five friendly backyard chickens that keep life fun and entertaining. At the heart of our marriage is friendship. We love making each other laugh and acting silly. We dream of sharing bedtime routines, holiday traditions, backyard adventures, and all the little moments that make childhood special. More than anything, we look forward to providing a child with a home where they feel safe, valued, encouraged, and unconditionally loved.
Home and Family
We live in a cozy brick home with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a basement we can already imagine filled with toys and laughter.
We love our large fenced in backyard where we often host parties and picnics. One of our favorite traditions is dragging a mattress into the living room and camping under the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve. Our home is just a short walk from a neighborhood park, and enjoys taking Hazel on daily walks through our safe, family-friendly community. I value that our neighborhood is full of families from many different backgrounds and cultures, giving a child the chance to grow up where diversity surrounds them. We also have a nearby church that is active in the community and always hosting fun events for families.
Jacob's parents host “Cousins Camp” every summer, filling the days with pool time, campouts, s'mores, and local arcade adventures for all of our nieces and nephews. Christmas is a huge celebration for us, starting with church on Christmas Eve and ending with a lively night at a sibling's house where the kids tear into presents and everyone enjoys homemade food and way too much banana pudding. Our family celebrates every holiday and birthday together, including Halloween spent trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. We both grew up surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and siblings, and those memories shaped who we are. We hope to give a child that same joy, support, and sense of belonging within a large, loving family.
