Katie and Paul

Hi there! We are Paul and Katie, and Fox!

We live in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of West Virginia with our son, Fox (7).

Adoption has always felt like a beautiful and sacred way to grow a family—one built through love, trust, and courage. Looking back, we can see how gently and steadily God has guided our family toward embracing another child through the gift of adoption.

We can only imagine how much is on your heart right now, and we want you to know that we are thinking of you with deep respect and care. Choosing adoption is an act of incredible love and courage. As you learn about us, our hope is not simply that you would choose us, but that you would feel peace, confidence, and support in whatever decision you make.

Our Story

We met in 2012 at church, just several months before Katie moved to Zimbabwe for a year to teach art at a primary school. During that year apart, we wrote long messages to each other every day, and through those conversations we built a deep friendship and connection. We wasted no time when she returned and had a small, intimate wedding only three months later. A few years into marriage, we moved to South Korea and spent two years teaching English in their public schools. That season gave us time to grow closer, experience a new culture together, and dream about the kind of family life we hoped to build one day.

After returning to the U.S., we spent seven years serving as house parents in a children’s group home for children in foster care or facing homelessness. During our very first year there, we also welcomed our son, Fox. Life quickly became full of sleepless nights with a baby while simultaneously parenting older children and teenagers through everyday challenges and deep hurts. It was stretching, beautiful, exhausting, and incredibly meaningful all at once. We feel incredibly grateful for the children we had the privilege to care for, and they continue to impact the way we parent, love, and view family today.

God has used our marriage and parenting to teach us so much about selfless love, forgiveness, grace, and humility.

We feel deeply grateful for the opportunity to welcome another child into our story and hearts.

Home sweet home!

Our home is full of warmth and togetherness.

We live in a neighborhood filled with children and kind neighbors who genuinely enjoy building community through bonfires, holiday gatherings, and everyday support. We have a playful and cuddly orange tabby cat named Rex.

As a family, we love being outdoors, exploring parks and hiking trails, visiting libraries and museums, and finding fun little adventures close to home. Because of our work schedules and homeschooling lifestyle, we get a lot of intentional time together, which we don’t take for granted. Whether we’re building projects, exercising together, watching movies, or leaving handwritten notes by the coffee maker, we try to make our home a place where love and connection are felt in the small daily moments.

One of our greatest blessings is our small, tight-knit group of families who feel more like extended family members than friends. Our children are growing up side-by-side. We share everyday life together—meals, celebrations, holidays, and prayerful support through both joyful and difficult seasons.
