We’re so grateful that you’re taking the time to look through our profile. These pages offer just a glimpse of who we are, but we hope that they show that we are a fun and adventurous family. We know that words can't fully express our feelings, but we hope you can see our genuine love and excitement.

We understand the immense love and strength it must take to consider making an adoption plan for your child, and we want you to know that we are here with open minds and profound respect for your journey.

No matter your decision, we are here to support you with compassion and care. We would be honored to share more about our lives and our commitment to providing your precious baby with a loving, nurturing home.

Our Story

Our journey began 20+ years ago when we met through mutual friends in college. After graduation, we reconnected and went on our first date, and it’s been a whirlwind ever since! For our first real adventure, we moved to Vegas so that Katie could attend graduate school. After that, we continued west to California, where we spent seven years before returning to the Midwest to be closer to family.

Over the years, we’ve had so many fun adventures, from hiking through the national parks to taco tours through Tijuana. While we love going on grand adventures, we also treasure our day-to-day lives. We love to really live life and are so excited to share this life with children.

We’ve been together for nearly 20 years! We dated for nine years before we got married (we know, we know, what took us so long?!) and will be celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary this year.

In 2025 we welcomed Mae into our family through adoption, and she brings so much joy to our lives. She is always happy, endlessly social, and ready to play. She chatters her way through each moment, curious about everything and eager to explore the world around her.

Home sweet home!

Our Iowa home is a 100-year-old two-story stucco house with three bedrooms and bathrooms. We are so lucky to have a park and golf course right across the street and a front patio with a firepit to relax on overlooking it. In addition to all the fun wildlife we see, the park provides a wooded trail to hike through, several playgrounds, a splash pad, and a frisbee golf course that is sure to keep little ones plenty entertained! There is also a popular bike/walking trail nearby that you can find us on often. It ends at a lake that hosts summer entertainment, lots of wildlife, restaurants, and another playground.

We have a fully fenced backyard to keep kiddos and dogs corralled, and we’re already dreaming of all the fun play structures we can build for our family. We love to have dinners and morning coffees out back while the dogs play in the yard. This summer Mae will be old enough to play alongside them!

Our dogs, Finn and Murphy, are the best additions to our family, and we love them so much! They are quirky and make us laugh daily. Both of them are so great with Mae - Murphy and Mae have become best friends. Mae loves to pet him and he’s so patient as Mae uses him as support as she learns to stand. Finn is her protector and loves to give her kisses.

Our parenthood journey led us to adopt our daughter, Mae, and becoming her parents has brought more joy, purpose, and love into our lives than we ever imagined. Now as we look to grow our family again, know that your baby will be adored not only by us, but also by their big sister Mae, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and their two four-legged furry siblings, Finn and Murphy. Your child’s life will be full of the best memories, big and small adventures, and all the wonder and excitement we could possibly dream up. We’ll encourage their dreams and raise them to be a kind person. We’ll hug them on their tough days and celebrate their big wins. They will be so loved, and we would be so honored if you choose us to raise them.

We want you to know that we will do everything we can to honor our promises to you and your child. If you would like an open relationship with us, we would love to have a connection with you, share updates and photos with you as they grow, and visit you so you can know their personality firsthand. Your baby will know their story and will understand the love you have for them.
