Kelli and Colin

We're Kelli and Colin - nice to meet you!

As you view our profile, and perhaps others as well, our hope is that it brings you comfort to know how much love and joy there is in the world, waiting for your child to find.

It's been a long journey for us to get to this point and it no doubt has for you, too. Life may not feel like it is going as planned right now, but what you are doing is truly powerful. You are creating life and, in doing so, making space for a family to grow through love. Whether or not that family is ours, we are so thankful that you are taking the time to learn about us.

About Us

We met in 2019 on a dating app, and we both knew very quickly that we'd found something special.

We packed in a lot of life together during the early years of our relationship, from road trips with our dogs to Colin dying Kelli's hair during quarantine to getting through a winter storm bundled in layers and headlamps. We have different hobbies and backgrounds, and each of us has a strong individual identity, but we share a sense of humor and a passion for each other. And, yes, a belief that Colin is better at loading the dishwasher than Kelli is.

We got married in Austin in 2021, surrounded by our closest family and friends. It was a small backyard ceremony with barbecue and donuts instead of a cake, and we loved every minute of it. In 2022, we welcomed our son Ellis to the family. Ellis is the perfect combination of wrecking ball and teddy bear, and we can't wait to see him grow into his role as a big brother.

The big moments in our lives have of course been meaningful, but it's the small, everyday moments that matter most to us. We love building a life together that is full of connection, laughter and support, and we look forward to growing that life as a family.

Home and Family

We live in a family-friendly neighborhood in the heart of the Houston.

Our house is over 100 years old, and we remodeled and designed it specifically with another child in mind. Our neighborhood is exactly the kind of place we always hoped to raise our kids, and we are so grateful to call it home.

We have two dogs: Theodore and Dump Truck. Theodore is a 15-year-old Shih-Tzu Bichon, and we intend to keep him healthy and active as long as we possibly can. Dump Truck (Ellis named him, naturally) is a Portuguese Water Dog puppy who currently devotes a lot of his time to playing with Ellis and driving Theodore insane. Our dogs are truly part of the family and they bring so much happiness to our everyday life.

We are closely surrounded by loving friends who feel like family. As we write this, Ellis is in the backyard playing with one of his "uncles". Our extended families do not live nearby, but we stay closely connected through regular phone calls and visits. Sunday afternoons are often spent catching up with our parents, and we stay in close contact with our siblings and relatives.
