Kerri and AJ
Hi! We’re AJ and Kerri.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know our family — we are so honored that you would even consider us. We see you, and we honor the thoughtfulness, courage, and care you have shown in walking this journey. We want to share our heart for our family so you know the promises we will keep for you and your baby. First and foremost, we promise to love your child forever and unconditionally, in a home that is safe, steady, and full of joy. We will provide a place where your child is empowered to dream, where their creativity and curiosity are celebrated, and where they will always be reminded how deeply they are wanted. We promise to pursue your child’s heart daily, comfort them in their lows, and celebrate them in their highs. We will always acknowledge the important role you play in their life and story, and we will speak about you with kindness, care, respect, and gratitude.
Above all, we hope you have peace in each step of this journey, and we trust you completely with whatever decision feels right for you.
Our Story
We are AJ and Kerri — high school sweethearts who met in California at fifteen, dated for seven years, and got married in November of 2016. We have now been together for more than half of our lives, and we are more in love today than when we first started. We are truly opposites in the best way: AJ is outgoing, passionate, and the life of the party, while Kerri is steady, thoughtful, and carries a deep sense of peace wherever she goes. AJ is a pastor who loves walking with people and helping them discover purpose, hope, and identity, and Kerri is a tax accountant who works fully remotely from home, which lets her be near and present with our kids all day long. Our daughter Sophie joined us in 2022, and our son Cooper came along about two years later — they are the best big sister and little brother to one another. Our home is fun, loud, active, and full of connection and joy — we love playing sports, cheering on our favorite teams, and never passing up a good game day with friends and family. Kerri has always loved to dance, and it didn't take long for Sophie and Cooper to catch that same love — there is no shortage of living room dance parties in our house. We love going on family walks along the river, swimming at our neighborhood pool, hosting friends around the dinner table, and traveling to the beach as often as we can. AJ plays guitar and writes songs, and music has always been a natural part of how we celebrate, worship, and just enjoy life as a family.
Adoption has been on our hearts for years, and we know we are the kind of family that loves deeply outside our DNA.
Home and Family
We are a family that has so much fun together — we go on trips, have game nights, laugh loud, and genuinely love being in each other's company.
We do life with our people, and our home is always full of friends, family, and good food around the table. Our home is a bright, one-story house in Idaho with big glass doors that open to the backyard and a clear view of the mountains. We chose this city because it offers a beautiful balance — active and family-friendly, surrounded by safe neighborhoods, great schools, and kind, down-to-earth people. Our family is incredibly close: Kerri's parents — Grandma and Paca to the kids — live just six doors down, and AJ's brother, sister-in-law, and sister all live here in Idaho and are at our house constantly. Both of our extended families are fully on board with our adoption journey, already praying for us and excited to welcome whoever God brings into our family. We love our traditions — Christmas pajamas and a big french toast breakfast, Thanksgiving with two turkeys and family-recipe sides that everyone looks forward to all year long. We open our home to friends, church family, and anyone who doesn't have a place to go during the holidays, because making people feel the warmth and presence of family is at the heart of everything we do. Our door is always open, and our table always has room for more. A child coming into our home isn't just joining our little family of four — they are stepping into something much bigger than that.
Things we will teach your child
That you were wanted before you arrived, and you are loved exactly as you are.
That faith and joy belong together, and both can carry you through every season.
How to love bravely, without fear of mistakes.
That your story, your roots, and your culture matter and will always be honored.
How to find belonging in family, friendship, and community.
That your life is meaningful, and you were put here on purpose, for a purpose.
How to keep an open table — open hands, open hearts, room for one more.
Things that make us happy
Music — we love to sing, dance, and create music together.
Sports! We love playing and watching them — Go Dodgers and Lakers!
Family vacations and exploring God's beautiful creation.
Playing and laughing with friends all the time!
Watching people find joy, connection, and life in the context of family and community.
Our kids and them playing with friends!
“We love because He first loved us.”
Thank you!
We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering us for this incredibly important decision — you are so brave, strong, and loving to be in this place, and we hope you can see that in yourself. We will always acknowledge the important role you play in your child’s life and story, and we will speak about you openly, respectfully, and with admiration. Above all, we hope you feel peace in the midst of this journey, surrounded by people who are listening and leading you with love.
We will continue to pray for you for the rest of our lives, knowing that you are a cherished and meaningful part of our story.
