McKinna and Patrick
Hello, we are McKinna and Patrick!
We want you to know how much we admire the incredible strength and courage you’re showing right now. Whatever emotions you are feeling, please know we have so much respect for you and your journey. For us, adoption isn’t a "backup plan"—it is a path we have felt truly drawn to with open hearts from the very start. This process has only made us more certain of the love we have to give and our deep desire to be parents.
If you decide adoption is the best path, we promise to honor your baby’s story and the vital role you play in it from day one. We believe every child deserves to grow up knowing where they come from and how much they have always been loved. Thank you so much for taking a moment to get to know us and for the care you’re putting into this decision.
We are truly grateful for your consideration, no matter what you choose.
Our Story
We’ve always loved the "invisible string" theory—the idea that the people meant for us are already connected long before we actually meet.
Our own story followed that path perfectly; we had years of near-misses through mutual friends before finally hitting it off at a college football tailgate. Navigating long distance early on only made us more certain of each other, and since moving to Texas and getting married in 2022, we’ve built a life rooted in true friendship. We’re big fans of the simple joys, whether we’re out hiking a new trail, catching a concert, or hunting for the best local coffee shops and bakeries. On any given weekend, you might also find us traveling to a new place, cheering at a sporting event, or hosting a lively game night with our closest friends. We cherish the quiet moments too, like heading to the movies or just relaxing at home together.
Home and Family
Since buying our house in 2023, we have been making it more and more our own, and making it a home.
We have always pictured it as the place we would grow our family, filling it laughter, joy, and everyday memories that make a house feel like a home. We live in a suburb north of Dallas, and our neighborhood is full or parks, trails, and amenities like playgrounds, pools, and fields, which we enjoy on our daily walks throughout.
We’ve been in this area since 2019, and it truly feels like home. Most of our favorite spots and hobbies are a short walk or drive away, which makes it easy for us to feel connected to the community. We’ve also built strong friendships, started our careers, and have established meaningful roots here over the years.
Family is at the center of everything we do from the big things, such as family trips and cheering on our favorite teams, to the simple everyday moments like baking in the kitchen or playing games around the table. We love just being able to spend quality time together telling stories and making memories.
Our family and friends have been incredibly supportive throughout our journey, and they are already so excited to welcome another child with open arms. Your child would be surrounded by people who truly show up for them, celebrate the big and the small moments, and love them in an unconditional way.

Things we would teach your child:
We will teach them to be authentic in who they are and to surround themselves with people who accept them for whoever they may be.
We will teach them how to find joy and fun in even the simplest of things.
We will teach them that their voice matters and that it’s okay to speak up and ask questions.
We will teach them that it’s okay to be silly, laugh often, and not take life too seriously all the time.
“Love alone is capable of uniting living beings in such a way as to complete and fulfill them.”
In Closing
We want to thank you for getting to know us, and we especially want you to know that we promise to always honor where your child comes from and to keep their unique story at the heart of our home.
We’ll always be open and honest with them, even when the conversations aren't easy, because we want them to grow up in a place that feels safe, steady, and completely comfortable. Our love will be without any conditions, giving them all the freedom they need to grow into exactly who they are meant to be. We truly believe that every step of our journey has been leading us to this point, and we trust the timing of it all. Just as our own lives have unfolded in such a beautiful way, we know that when we finally connect with our future child, everything will fall into place exactly as it was meant to.
