Hello! We are Michael and Michaela

Yes, you did read that right; our names are practically the same! As we think about the incredibly big decision you're trying to make, we feel incredibly humbled to be invited into this space. Even as we talk about ourselves in the paragraphs ahead, we hope you know this space is yours and your voice matters to us. Please know we stand behind you and are praying for you, no matter which path you choose. 

Our Story

We met through a college bible study group. We dated long distance for about 9 months, which was challenging, but we credit this period to developing healthy communication patterns, when Skype and text were our only ways of "hanging out." Through hours of virtual dates, we truly feel like we found our best friend and partner in life.

In our free time, we love taking the dogs for walks, going hiking, and we absolutely love to travel! We aren't sure if eating is classified as a hobby, but we love trying new food! Whenever we travel, we love immersing ourselves in the culture, including the local cuisine.

Michaela loves to read and often gets lost in her books. She loves to paint, color, and has entirely too many adult coloring books. Michael loves the outdoors and cooking for his friends and family. We are so excited to become parents and cannot wait to grow our family through adoption. 

Home sweet home!

We live in a beautiful neighborhood in San Antonio. It's a family-centered gated community, close to amusement parks, shopping, and nature trails. The elementary school is within walking distance, and during the week there are groups of children seen waiting for the school bus. We have a large backyard with plenty of room to run around, a swing set, and maybe even one day a pool. 

We have 2 rescue dogs, Elsa and Purdy. Elsa has tons of energy and absolutely adores kids. Purdy is our little home-body who enjoys being up on the couch and taking naps all day. 

We both have large extended family that lives in the area. Both sets of parents live about 10 minutes away, and they are so excited to be involved in our baby's life. For the holidays, there is always plenty to do, and we cannot wait to have a baby around to make family events even better. We see each side of the family about once a month, but communicate with them almost daily. They are so excited to become grandparents!

• Loves animals, he has always had a pet including dogs and a parakeet

Michaela:

• Is absolutely obsessed with Disney

• Loves to dance, she was a cheerleader in high school and college

• Loves her job, she loves being a nurse
