Monica and Mark

Hello from Mark and Monica

We want to express our deepest gratitude to you for the gift of life and for the immeasurable sacrifice you are considering with an adoption plan for your child. We understand that this decision may be one of the most difficult you ever had to make, and we want you to know that we honor your bravery, strength, and love.

Our Story

We met in 2015 after years of searching and immediately connected over dinner at a little Mexican restaurant in Campbell, California. There was instant chemistry and we quickly realized how much we shared in common, from our Catholic upbringing to our love of family. After a few wonderful years together, Mark proposed at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, and we were married in 2018 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in San Jose. Since then, we’ve built a warm and loving home in Colorado, where we’ve created a small farm. We started with two cats, Kit and Nico, and soon welcomed our goldendoodles, Trixie (named after Deadwood) and Atticus (named after To Kill a Mockingbird). Our family grew again with the addition of eights chickens. We hope to expand even more one day when we move to a larger property.

Our home is full of love, laughter, animals, and the joy of building a life together, and we’re excited to one day share it all with a child.

Home sweet home!

In 2021, we moved from California to Colorado, a place we both loved visiting while growing up.

We built our home in the woods and began creating the homestead we had always dreamed of. From the start, we rolled up our sleeves—Monica added warmth with family heirlooms and religious decor, while Mark took on projects like updating fixtures and building a new fence. It has been hard work, but every project has been a labor of love.

Mark recently built an additional chicken coop for our growing flock, while indoors we transformed a guest room into a woodland-themed nursery. A local artist painted Colorado animals and nature scenes on the walls, making it a special space we can’t wait to share with a child.

Looking ahead, we dream of a forever home on the East Coast near family, with a regenerative farm filled with chickens, goats, and pigs. We imagine children playing outside with the animals, and a big home where we can gather loved ones for holidays, birthdays, and milestones.

Try and leave this world a little better than you found it and when your turn comes to die, you can die happy in feeling that at any rate you have not wasted your time but have done your best.
