Hello! We are Monica, Matt, and Nolan!

We are so honored and grateful that you are taking the time to consider our family. While this is only a glimpse into our lives, we hope it gives you an idea of who we are.

We are a close-knit family who enjoys adventuring together, as well as finding the joy and fun in the daily tasks of life and parenthood. To us, family is the most important thing in the world. As you read about us, we want you to know that unconditional love is at the root of our family. Every day, we value and strive for kindness, respect, communication, and empathy. We are really looking forward to welcoming and loving another child beyond measure!

Our Story

We grew up only a few towns away, but didn't meet until college!

We hung out in the same friend group throughout college and even lived across the hall from each other our senior year. Three years after we graduated college and both had completed our graduate school programs, the timing clicked and our years of friendship turned into something more. Three years later, we got married in 2018 on a beautiful, warm July day. For the past five years, we have loved building our lives together.

Matt works as an attorney and Monica is a school psychologist.

Nolan is our sweet, energetic, curious three year old son. He is a kind and even keeled little guy, who loves cars, baseball, animals, and the beach! We love to do activities as a family, like go to the park, try new restaurants, take day trips to new places, or simply spend quality time together at home. Following secondary infertility, we both felt a strong calling to adopt – to love and be loved by a baby we hadn’t yet met. We can’t wait to welcome another child into to our family!

Our Home and Family

We live in a safe, welcoming neighborhood in the suburbs that is full of families and young children.

Our town is only 20 minutes outside of a major city, and under two hours to a beach town - both of which we enjoy frequently visiting. Our favorite thing about where we live is how walkable it is to many parks, restaurants, coffee, and ice cream shops! We love talking long walks together in the neighborhood, especially with our sweet yellow lab dog, Indy. At home, we spend tons of time outside in the backyard and on our screened in porch, cozying up on the couch for movie nights, baking cookies in the kitchen, and hanging out in the playroom. Family is extremely important to us and we are so lucky that so much of our family lives close by. Nolan gets to see both sets of grandparents often, as well play with his cousins regularly! We love having family nights, pool days, birthday parties, and special occasions with our families.

Favorite Things

Monica:

• Loves live music and concerts. Taylor Swift, Coldplay, and the Lumineers are some of my favorites!

• Enjoys reading books and photography

• St. Patrick's day is my favorite holiday

• Loves baking chocolate chip cookies

Matt:

• Enjoys mowing the lawn and fixing things around the house

• Loves watching football and baseball

• Likes running, and playing golf 

Favorite Family Traditions

• We go for a family vacation for a week in August each year.

• At Christmas, Matt's family hosts a Secret Santa Pollyanna party, and Monica's family throws a huge Christmas Eve party.

• Every Friday, we have pizza, movie, and ice cream night.

• We love making appetizers and snacks for football Sunday.

• For birthdays, we decorate downstairs with balloons the night before to make mornings extra special!
